(no subject)

[ With gentle fingers he tugged onto the wall pocket of that paper screen, the smoke from his cigarette amplifying the stains as they danced past, and it slid with ease. Hijikata ran his fingers down the chipped wood, taking a glance at the layer of dust that accumulated, before sweeping it off. This place, despite it's flawed exterior, was still the lighter part of the contrast when compared to the world outside.

He used to sit at the more detached areas of the restaurant, as loners do. It was an open 'leave me be' to all the other people around. That, however, was unnecessary now, given the complete absence of people entirely. ]

Aa, ah. Can't believe this place used to be so noisy.

[ A glance at his watch, another glance at the door -and he finally settles down to order. ]

Tyki was sitting few meters away from him holding cards in his hand (an ace, a queen and a eight) while staring at the ones on the table thinking about what to use next. He was playing a solitaire.

It was just the usual day: A job, people to kill; nothing that he was going to complain about, though. He didn't dislike doing his work. That's was what he was meant to do anyway; that was what a Noah was meant to do.

He was wearing his black suit, with the hat placed at the side of the cards. He noticed Hijikata enter the restaurant, close the door at his back and sit to one of the tables. It was no wonder that he did not notice him at all, Tyki was doing his best to not attract attention and it seemed like it was working.

As soon as the last card was put on the table, he shifted his head to Hijikata's direction, showing a smile.

"Are we alone?"

"Just a passerby." He felt that, he felt the suspicion. It wasn't something new for him, feeling such a sentiment from a human. A bit rare, maybe, but that was just because the thing he felt the most from them in his 'black side' was fear.

Again, nothing that he was going to complain about. On the contrary, he liked it.

"I was wondering if I could ask you to play cards with me. You know, just to pass time."
