~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: Junpei has the ability to summon a persona by firing an evoker, a gun-like object, at his head. His persona gives him both magical and physical abilities, such as mild fire and statistical increase spells or strike and slash attacks. He also has decent sword skills even though he wields his sword like a baseball bat.
Appearance: A caricature of a stereotypical male teen, Junpei has a muscular, yet slender, figure. Almost always hidden by a baseball cap, his grayish blue hair is cropped short. His eyes match the color of his hair and are accompanied on his face by a short and scrawny beard. His taste in clothing is generally casual, preferring muscle shirts and jeans in addition to his his ever-present cap and necklace.
Background/Personality: First discovering the existence of the dark hour during a late night trip to a convenience store, Junpei immediately agrees to join the fight against shadows and moves into the SEES dorm. Junpei is eager to join SEES as a way to lessen his feelings of inferiority, thinking fighting will make him not feel like a loser. At first, he is quick to become jealous of SEES members that are stronger than him but gradually loses this resentment. He becomes more serious about fighting shadows once he meets Chidori, who Junpei develops feelings for.
Junpei is generally an easy-going and cheerful person. However, he is quick to anger if someone disagrees with one of his values. He is a determined fighter, though at this point, the transition from his motivation being selfish to selfless is not yet complete. Junpei fights mainly to assure himself that he is not useless in the world, though protecting others is still important to him. He is a poor student, neglecting homework and falling asleep in class. However, when exams approach, he becomes obsessed with how poorly he is going to do. In addition to this, Junpei is girl-crazy, looking forward to the occasions when his dorm mates dress in swimsuits or yukatas. Before meeting Chidori, he attempted to flirt with unfamiliar girls, though his relationship with Chidori includes very little flirting. Personality-wise, Junpei fits into the male teen archetype with poor academics, low self-esteem, and an active interest in girls.

This is just totally surreal. I can't believe it's really happening. Well, I guess it's not as strange as other things that've happened...
But--was our world really destroyed? It can't have been! Everything we fought so hard to protect...! We really were useless, in the end... Damn it!

Junpei didn't know what to think about the situation. On one hand, it was possibly the coolest thing to have ever happened to him (aside from fighting monsters with his special power for the good of mankind). But on the other hand, the reason for him being on a super cool totally awesome space station was the worst thing to have ever happened to him.
He had tried so hard, fought and trained until he was exhausted, had even risked his life to protect the people of Japan. And now those people, along with the rest of the damn planet, were gone. Had the efforts of the SEES members been pointless? Was the rest of the team still alive? Junpei fell to his knees in defeat.
No, what was he doing? There was no use in grieving on the floor! He had to go and see if anyone he knew was here -- had survived. Alright, Junpei, pull yourself together, man! You can handle this! This isn't the time to let failure bother you, he told himself. He tried to think of where SEES members might be, if they had ended up here. Probably wandering around the hallways, looking for others... he thought, rising from his kneeling position. Yeah, he'd probably just round that curve a few feet away and knock right into Fuuka! Or maybe Mitsuru-senpai, but then he'd be in for it, so maybe he should walk a little slower. It would kind of suck to survive the end of the world only to be executed by Mitsuru.
