Are you over 16?:
Personal LJ:
Email:
Timezone: For plotting purposes.
Other contact: Aim/MSN/Yahoo/whatever you use
Characters already in the game: Keep in mind that the limit is six characters
How did you find us?: Satisfy our curiosity! And it's helpful if we've been advertising.

IC:

Character name:
Fandom:
Timeline: What point in canon are you taking them from?
Age: Make a guess if you don't know. Specify if you're going by headcanon.
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: He fails at life/knows karate/can blow up the world.
How would they use their abilities?: Are they likely to abuse them, and if so, how? Are they going to cause major destruction? Are they likely to manipulate or brainwash other refugees or NPCs, or use them to uphold the rules?
Appearance: Don't just link to a picture, please (but feel free to do that as well).

Background/Personality: Explain your character's past, focusing on events that affected their personality and how, exactly, it shaped them into the person they are today. Use their background, as well as canon examples, to explain their personality to us.

We do not need to know every little detail about their canon if it didn't directly affect your character. We actually want you to focus on personality more. Though please don't use this as an excuse to leave out important events!

For characters with little to no canon history, using headcanon is fine, as long as you clarify this to us.

Keep in mind that we will judge your app based on grammar, sentence structure and proper use of paragraphs. Some mistakes are fine, but remember: spellcheck is your friend. The mods shouldn't have to strain to read your application. ;;

Why should that character be in this game: For OCs only.
Why do you want to continue their history here: For characters from other games only.

Have you read up on how the game works?: What is the name of the Guide plug-in that allows characters to communicate with each other? Also, name three ways your character can earn money on the ship.

1st person sample: A standard journal entry. Make it at least 100 words. [For characters who don't speak a lot, we're lenient in the word count, so long as there's something substantial to go by. For characters who don't talk at all, a sample video post is enough. :D]

3rd person sample: A sample log post. Should be at least 200 words.

Questions?:
Did you put your characters name and fandom in the subject: No, seriously, do this. It makes it so much easier for everyone.

Character name: Death The Kid
Fandom: Soul Eater
Timeline: Chapter 55.
Age: From looks alone, perhaps 13. However, Shinigami have really long lifespans, so it's hard to determine.
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths:
Kid is a meister. He wields two Demon Twin .38 caliber Guns, Liz and Patty Thompson, because he is mentally unable to stand wielding just one weapon. He holds them upside-down and uses his pinkies to fire them. Liz and Patty are able to tap into his soul wavelength. Thus, instead of bullets, he fires pink beams of soul wavelength at his opponent.
Though it is normally difficult to match soul wavelengths with two different weapons, Kid is able to do so because of the mutual admiration he has with his weapons. Thus, they can perform a stable Soul Resonance with little difficulty. During Soul Resonance, both Liz and Patty turn into two cannons that are attached to Kid's arms -dubbed 'Execution Mode'- and their power considerably increases. So far, he has only used one move in Execution Mode: Death Cannon, a powerful cannon that fires a huge blast of energy at the opponent and leaves behind nothing but smoke.
Even without Liz and Patty, Kid is still a competent fighter. He practices Shinigami Martial arts. So far, without the help of BREW, he has only revealed one style: The Stance of Sin, a series of chops, kicks and blows. However, when the BREW is activated, another stance is unlocked: The Stance of Punishment. This stance allows him to tap into his Shinigami ability and use skull shields to block attacks.

Though he is a Shinigami, he is also a child, and thus cannot use many of the same abilities his father can. However, despite this, he still has an advantage over other human meisters. Kid has the Body of a Shinigami, and thus is a natural deterrant to poisons (even hair-dye) and weather conditions such as magnetic rays. He has an ability called 'Konso', which allows him to collect the souls not in his father's list within his body for safe-keeping. So far, these are all the shinigami abilities he can use in his normal state, however when the Demon weapon BREW is activated, many other Shinigami abilities are unlocked.

When BREW is activated, the three stripes on his hair -undeveloped 'Sanzu Lines'- start to fully connect. This unlocks power strong enough to evolve Liz and Patty from .38 caliber guns to .42 caliber. With connected Sanzu Lines, he is able to produce 'Shadow Skull Arms' from his body, that he used to reattach an arm. He is also able to use the 'Sanzu Falls Shot', a stream of energy that can destroy multiple targets at once.

Outside of fighting, Kid is also skilled at skateboarding. He owns a skateboard named 'Beelzebub' that is capable of flying and travelling at very high speeds. He has been shown to use one offensive attack with his skateboard: The Tornado Flip, where Kid flips his skateboard and launches at the opponent.
How would they use their abilities?:
Very sparingly. Though Kid has the powers and body of a Shinigami, he keeps a low key. He will only use his abilities when he is collecting souls, fighting some bad guy or punishing somebody for destroying the symmetry.
Appearance:
He has quite a small build, sometimes shown to be shorter than his two female weapons. He is usually dressed very sophisticatedly, his normal attire being a crisp and symmetrical, black-and-white suit. His skin is pale, and his hair is black -fitting nicely into his black-and-white theme. He sports many skull-related accessories, such as a skull-ring on both hands and a skull attached to his collar. The most notable thing about him, and unfortunately the only thing preventing him from being symmetrical, is his hair, that is black with three white stripes (Sanzu Lines) on the left. On occasion, he will wear a cloak and a mask that resembles his father's.

Background/Personality:

Though never outright stated, Kid quite clearly suffers from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. This condition at times handicaps him, and at other times makes him stronger. He is obsessed with symmetry, to the extent where it sometimes interrupts his fights. He believes symmetry to be an art, the supreme beauty, and he will take time off to admire anything that is perfectly symmetrical. When fighting against a symmetrical opponent, he is virtually powerless by his own choice, because he believes that he will deeply regret destroying something he finds so beautiful. On the other hand, when fighting against something vastly asymmetrical or somebody who has damaged the symmetry of something, Kid will go into a violent, blind rage, and fire with no mercy until that opponent has been completely annihilated. His many quirks, such as folding the toilet paper into a triangle, arranging the picture frame at the front of his house so it is exactly parallel to the floor, and ensuring that the length of the left and right candles are exactly the same, stem from the belief that a failure to do so would make him a worthless being that other people (and, oddly, sometimes objects) would shun. He finds asymmetrical objects disgusting, and thus, when somebody points out the fact that Kid himself is asymmetrical, he will go into a deep-seated depression -moping on the floor and calling himself a worthless pig. This, however, Liz and Patty can immediately remedy, by giving him encouraging words and trying to boost his self-esteem. On more extreme situations, where his symmetry is broken by an outside source (eg. getting his hair cut by Soul and Black*Star), Kid's body would somehow be adversely affected and he would cough out blood and pass out.

Because of his love of symmetry, he enjoys helping others become symmetrical as well -this evident in his attempt to persuade Liz to let him pluck her eyebrows. He is generally a helpful person, but his help is not always appreciated by others. This is because of his rampant nitpicking and the subsequently ridiculous length of time he takes trying to get simple tasks done perfectly right. At times, he assumes others will enjoy symmetry as much as he does -this evident in his arranging of the medicine cabinet so that it would be exactly symmetrical from Maka's point of view.

Not only does he enjoy symmetry, but Kid appreciates order and balance. The parties he plans are always formal and elaborate, and the speeches he gives are always meticulously long and proper. His goal as a meister and Shinigami is to create a neat, tidy and orderly world. However, he's not some kinda blind ideologist -he cannot deny that no soul is without evil. Thus, he believes that when a balance, an equilibrium, between good and evil is acquired, then there will be peace.

Background/Personality:

(continued...)
When not fussing over symmetry, Kid is usually serious and logical. He speaks in a very sophisticated manner -polite but far from pretentious. He thinks things through, and knows when to retreat when the opponent is simply out of his league(however, this does not mean he would abandon a friend in need as a result). Despite all this, he isn't all serious business, all the time. He knows how to have fun -sometimes sneaking in a skateboard move during fights- and will play games with his friends if asked to. He is generally agreeable and easy to get along with, because he is modest despite literally having a God's body.

Kid has a good heart, and that is why the Thompson Sisters -who grew up in the streets- chose to be his weapons. He is not one to simply stand witness to an unfair fight, because, god forbid, he would not be able to tolerate it. When met with an opponent incredibly strong, and put in a life-threatening situation, his primary concern is always Liz and Patty. For example, during the fight with Mosquito where his arm was amputated, Patty wanted to turn into her human-form to help him, but he ordered her not to because they would make her more vulnerable. Also, when Noah was about to absorb Kid into Eibon's book, his immediate reaction was not to save himself, but to throw Liz and Patty onto the floor so that they do not get absorbed as well. Kid is not one to show weakness to what he considers scum. He will put up a brave front all the way through, and even taunt his attacker despite the beating that will follow. For example, when Gopher was torturing the bound and helpless Kid, he kept smiling the whole time, commenting about how dismal the effort was. (Unfortunately, upon noticing Gopher's asymmetrical mouth, it is then that Kid starts to beg for someone to save him. )

He takes pride in being a Shinigami, feeling enraged and silencing anyone who speaks ill of his father and kind. Since he believes that collecting and eating souls not on Shinigami-sama's list is an unforgivable act, those who do so -he regards as repulsive scum. He, as a Shinigami, will never give others the freedom to kill as they so like. He feels that such scum do not deserve the right to be in charge of human souls, and he will punish them for intruding on Shinigami domain.

Not much is known about his past, but it is assumed that before entering Shibusen, he lived the life of a spoiled, wealthy child. The after-effect of being spoiled sometimes pokes its head out in his daily life. On top of being obsessed with symmetry, he is also obsessed with cleanliness -probably having servants to keep everything spotless in his own home. He does not like getting his clothing wet or dirty, nor does he like dusty environments. If the floor is muddy, he would rather cling on to a rock and ask to be carried than simply walk himself.

Have you read up on how the game works?:
What is the name of the Guide plug-in that allows characters to communicate with each other? lamingerret

Also, name three ways your character can earn money on the ship.
Take on a mission. Or a commission job like becoming a caterer or test subject.

1st person sample:
Here you go→
|001.| (http://community.livejournal.com/paramnesias/15755.html)

However, if links aren't allowed, then I can do another one for you.

3rd person sample:

Nights in Death City were quiet, eerily so, and the stone floors and Gothic architecture seem to be never ending. Kid's soul for today was a serial killer dubbed as 'The Mime'. This 'Mime' had a unique ability to control his soul wavelength and subdue his victims without even touching them. Though his control was weak, he was still deadly to the average person. Nobody knew his real name, and quite frankly, Kid was not interested. If his crimes were enough to make Shinigami's list -his father's judgement; something he could swear his life on- then he was clearly not someone with a name he wanted to remember. Beelzebub buzzed softly as he glided through the dark alleys, scanning for a presence. The feeling was faint, like a tingle in his chest, but he followed it with a bloodhound's persistence. He was not about to let this guy get away.

As the feeling progressively got stronger, he ripped through the streets, waiting for the moment where the soul could literally be seen. And when that moment came, he could feel it all; this man's thirst, this man's devotion to his sick art, this man's budding craziness. It was sickening. However, in a world where insanity spread like wildfire, it came as no surprise that Soul Perception would sometimes bring with it such sickening feelings.

"No point running now. You're as good as caught," Kid stated, a confidence in that deadpan voice. He then flung his two Demon Guns in the air and they materialized, taking the form of two young girls.

"Shentonway Street's 'The Mime'," They said in unison, as if completely routine, "We're here for your soul!"

The Mime shifted in his position, body still buried deep within the shadows. He groaned, then snarled, but -true to his name- did not speak. It was then that he made a fatal error -he decided to leave that curtain of darkness, showcasing himself for all to see.

And Kid saw. Oh, he saw. He saw that face that was black on the left, and white on the right. He saw those hands that sported different designs on both sides. He saw those socks that were both a different pattern and length. Every little detail, every little imperfection --Kid could see it all. And he was far from pleased.

"Just what the hell is wrong with you?" He exclaimed, throwing his hands to both sides, "Liz! Patty!"

The two weapons instinctively knew what he wanted, and turned themselves into guns, landing nicely into the palms of both his hands.

"Repulsive! Disgusting! That's completely messed up!" He continued, firing each time with little restraint or mercy. The other party got into position, ready for an offensive attack, but his attacks simply could not hold up against the bombardment of energy that Kid was recklessly throwing at him, "Look at that face! Why the hell is it two different colors?! Were you asleep when you painted it?!"

Blow after blow after blow, it would not cease. The Mime's screams simply laid the backdrop for the tattering of Kid's two revolvers, "Get out of my sight, you vile creature! You're the most screwed up thing ever!" When it finally stopped, Kid's shoulders eased up, and he sighed. He looked forward to find that what was previously a man, was now nothing but an orb-shaped entity.

"I think you overdid it a little, Kid,"

"Ah, perhaps."

Did you put your characters name and fandom in the subject: DAMN RIGHT, I DID. PEOPLE WHO DON'T DO THAT SHOULD BE SHOT.
